Don't say the 'S' word

*whispers*
Is it here?
Has it come just a little bit early?
Shhh! Don't say it too loudly. It may take fright. I'm not sure I could cope if you say it's still Winter.

Look, even the Wee One is holding Spring to ransom, admittedly with a hair dryer but he has the right idea.

The blossom has come out to see what's occurring.

The evenings are lighter, warmer and dryer, and The Princess has dusted off her bouncing socks.

The birds are frisky and need some extra calories. We were happy to oblige with a homework recycling project involving a bottle and a wooden spoon.

Awesome Man accompanied me to the hairdressers to bid my winter tresses a fond farewell in favour of a swishy neck exposing spring loving style.

A new enthusiasm for getting my a**e in gear seems to have materialised round about the same time as the sun did.

And the inevitable sound of the ice cream van brings out the hunter gatherer in my boys.

I bet I've gone and jinxed it now.

Spring is springing

This week felt has like the first week of Spring.
Hell, I even cut the grass!
So my self imposed (retrospective) theme, is Spring.

Fivegobloging 365project week 15 2013

They had a spring in their step to get to their sleepover.
Daisies are springing up in the lawn.
The Burghley deer can spring into a trot in the blink of an eye.
The sprung suspension on her micro scooter is being tested.
Spring cleaning the Mr's wardrobe and some old shirts are upcycled into a heart decoration.
Watching while the car has a spring clean.
Healthy eating for Spring.

Hope Spring has shown itself where you are x

365project week 10 2013

Newsflash!
Spring has been spotted.
Fresh sightings of the sun have prompted unprecedented exposure to fresh air and exercise this week. Young and old alike have been venturing out beyond the safety of their raincoats to experience the first signs of 'warmth'. The public should not be alarmed and to venture outside at the earliest opportunity, but should carry a scarf and umbrella as a precautionary measure.

Fivegoblogging 365project week 10 2013

  • Short sleeves, bare feet and a spring in her bounce.
  • Renewed energy to kick that ball.
  • Daffodils are blooming.
  • Over exposure to fresh air leads to sedate tower building.
  • Blossom. yes, blossom.
  • Feathers floating.
  • Garden skeleton.

SAD

SAD face condensation

There isn't much that actually makes me sad but yesterday I realised there is one big thing.

It is huge. Vast. And spectacularly hot.

It's influence is far reaching.

Even to the extent of my mood.

It is the Sun.

Sunlight over a roof

It isn't until the rays of the sun shine down on your face, that you realise how much, how very much, you miss it in Winter. It isn't until your children run home from school, throw off their uniforms and launch themselves after a football in the garden, that you miss that big yellow glowing star (Not a planet. The Big One has confirmed this) in the sky. It is there, of course, occasionally teasing you with a few moments of brightness through the clouds. But it is just that, teasing. And then it hides itself away for a few more days. And leaves me feeling SAD again.

sunlight through trees

But yesterday and today, the Sun shone. And we went into the garden and played. And we were all in better moods. The Wee one had a nap, worn out from walking and playing. He slept better last night too.

Child on garden bench

child on toy tractor

child shouting raaah

child on trampoline

I like this mood. I have missed feeling happy. I have missed the Sun.
