The Sun

The Sun by Five Go Blogging

The sun.

You rise.
I lift my face.
You shine.
I smile.
You glow.
I feel your warmth.
You radiate.
I have hope.
You glimmer.
I shimmer.
You set.
I sigh.
I wait for tomorrow.

Sun-smiling

The sun shines and it is like the world is smiling at you.
So I am gorging myself on sunlight, soaking it in, hoping that it will see me through the inevitable dreary days that will come.

Five Go Blogging 365project week 16 2013

Morning sunlight pouring through the windows attracts boys who want to play.
Too busy playing in the sun to eat his first breakfast, so a second breakfast today.
Sunlight on my dining room floor.
Warmer evenings and a mysterious artistic duo are painting the town, literally.
The sun seems to be making his eyelashes grow longer.
My garden workforce.
Jigsaws on the dining room floor where the sun shines.

May the sun shine on your week.

SAD

SAD face condensation

There isn't much that actually makes me sad but yesterday I realised there is one big thing.

It is huge. Vast. And spectacularly hot.

It's influence is far reaching.

Even to the extent of my mood.

It is the Sun.

Sunlight over a roof

It isn't until the rays of the sun shine down on your face, that you realise how much, how very much, you miss it in Winter. It isn't until your children run home from school, throw off their uniforms and launch themselves after a football in the garden, that you miss that big yellow glowing star (Not a planet. The Big One has confirmed this) in the sky. It is there, of course, occasionally teasing you with a few moments of brightness through the clouds. But it is just that, teasing. And then it hides itself away for a few more days. And leaves me feeling SAD again.

sunlight through trees

But yesterday and today, the Sun shone. And we went into the garden and played. And we were all in better moods. The Wee one had a nap, worn out from walking and playing. He slept better last night too.

Child on garden bench

child shouting raaah

I like this mood. I have missed feeling happy. I have missed the Sun.

Sunshine

Where Sunshine meets the Gallery courtesy of Tara.

I have a favourite sunshine photo which I took last week of my sunglasses but I already featured it in my 365project round up so had to find another. I didn't have to look far though. There she was, basking in it.

sun worshipping dog

Misty Moo is a complete sun worshipper and has a few favourite spots but favours the patio. Perhaps it is how the paving stones soak up the heat of the day and then give it back like underfloor heating. Then when she has had enough, she retreats to the hall and the coolness of the terracota tiles.

Oh to be that carefree, and unbothered about burning!

365project Week 21

Colour.
It can dictate your mood.
At the start of the week I was feeling blue, fed up with the rain, the cold, and the grey.
I sought sollace in a cup of latte.
But then, from nowhere, the SUN!
I celebrate the colour that it gives to my world!
I worship in its satisfying glow.
The vibrance it brings to everything, even weeds.
And the sparkle it brings to the childrens eyes.
The joy of contrasting colours.
The pleasure of looking through shades.
The movement of colour in a welcome breeze.
